PDF Document Format

PDF Converter

PDF stands for ‘Portable Document Format’ file. It was developed by Adobe so people could share documents regardless of which device, operating system, or software they were using, while preserving the content and formatting. The format has evolved to allow for editing and interactive elements like electronic signatures or buttons. The PDF format is now a standard open format that isn’t just available under Adobe Acrobat. It is maintained by the International Organisation for Standardization (ISO).

PDF files aren’t typically created from scratch, but are usually converted, saved or ‘printed’ from other documents or images before sharing, publishing online or storing. They can be viewed on almost all devices. Creating a PDF can involve compressing a file, making it take up less storage space. You would typically create a PDF if you wanted to ensure document fidelity, to make it more secure, or to create a copy for storage.

GIF Image Format

GIF Converter

GIF stands for Graphical Interchange Format. Although traditionally still images, GIFs can also include short bursts of soundless animation. They will open in almost all image programs and on almost all devices. GIFs are raster images made up of pixels and containing up to 256 colours. To make GIFs easier to share, the image or animation is compressed with lossless compression, creating a smaller file size without noticeably affecting image quality. GIFs are often used on websites for animated objects and navigation buttons, and on social media to share video clips and animated images.

GIFs were developed in 1987. They were mostly replaced by JPG and PNG until they were integrated into messaging and social media apps and started being used for memes. Billions of animated GIFs are now sent between users or posted online every day. GIFs are big business and they’re widely used by advertisers and marketeers. Many film and TV companies produce and publish their own GIFs as part of their viral marketing strategies.

You can convert a PDF into a GIF using file conversion software or online tools like Zamzar. To convert your file, just upload it to the free tool on Zamzar’s website, select to convert it into a GIF image, and then download the file when it’s ready.

You can also convert your file into a GIF with some graphics software, such as Adobe Photoshop or GIMP, by opening the PDF in that software and exporting it in GIF format. However, with sites like Zamzar you can quickly convert files without installing new software on your device.

A PDF can be a GIF if you convert it using image-editing software or a file conversion tool. A lot of file converters require installing software, but by using websites like Zamzar you can create GIFs without downloading another application. Simply upload your PDF file to Zamzar’s site, choose GIF from the list, and then click ‘Convert Now’. You can then download a GIF image of your document. If the PDF has multiple pages, you will get an image for each page.

Alternatively, if you have access to image-editing software like GIMP or Adobe Photoshop, you could use that to open your PDF file, and then use the ‘Export’ option to save the file as a GIF.

Online tools like Zamzar are a quick way to convert files to GIFs. If you’re uploading a document with multiple pages, you can get a GIF image for every page of the document. Just upload your file to the free tool on Zamzar’s website, click to convert it into GIF format, and then download the new image files. It’s also possible to use certain graphics applications, such as Adobe Photoshop or GIMP, to open files and then export them in GIF format, but you would need to do this individually with each file.

Zamzar’s file conversion tool is one of the fastest ways to create a GIF image from a file. Unlike with software applications, you can easily create images without downloading anything extra to your device. There are just three steps to Zamzar’s online tool – upload your file, select GIF format and ‘Convert Now’, and download your new images.

Another option is to export a file in GIF format using an app like Preview for Mac, or an image-editing program like Adobe Photoshop or GIMP.

There are a few different ways you can make a GIF on Windows. If you have Adobe Photoshop or the GIMP image editor, you could use that to export an image in GIF format. You can also make GIFs using online file conversion tools like Zamzar. With Zamzar, you can create animated GIFs from video files, and also GIF images from image or document files. The process is the same for both - just upload your file to the free tool on Zamzar’s website, select to convert the file into GIF format, and then download the new GIF. If you’ve uploaded a document, you will get a GIF image for each page.
